CASC Event - Matt Tavares Talk

On September 26th, 2016, CASC and the Ward PTO are bringing in respected author Matt Tavares to speak with our Second Grade.  Mr. Tavares has a agreed to stay for a book signing after his presentation.  Parents may choose to purchase his books for their families.  It would be great if you could do so through any of links below which benefits our PTO and CASC.  The books have been recommended by Ms. Packard and the Second Grade teachers:

 

Below is a short biography on Mr. Tavares:

Matt Tavares has published seventeen books: he is the author-illustrator of Crossing Niagara, Growing Up Pedro, Becoming Babe Ruth, There Goes Ted Williams: The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived, Henry Aaron's Dream, Mudball, Zachary’s Ball and Oliver's Game, and the illustrator of Over the River and Through the Wood by L. Maria Child, Jack's Path of Courage: The Life of John F. Kennedy, written by Doreen Rappaport, The Gingerbread Pirates, written by Kristin Kladstrup, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, attributed to Anonymous, Jack and the Beanstalk, written by E. Nesbit, Iron Hans: A Grimms' Fairy Tale, retold by Stephen Mitchell, and Lady Liberty: A Biography, written by Doreen Rappaport.  

Mr. Tavares’ books have won many awards including three Parents' Choice Gold Awards, six Oppenheim Gold Seal Awards, and an International Reading Association Children's Book Award.
