The CARe (Community Awareness and Responsibility) Committee implements projects that increase social awareness in our children. We organize events both at school and in the broader community that show how students have the ability to make a difference and to teach students the importance and impact of their individual actions.
Some of our past projects include a Hoop Shoot fundraiser, making sandwiches for a shelter, creating a mural for a pediatric hospital, holiday gift drives for local organizations and food bank collections. This year we are planning a variety of events including a clothing drive for Cradles to Crayons, making goodie bags for Birthday Wishes, distributing and collecting UNICEF Halloween boxes, and collecting box tops. We have found the CARe Committee has a particularly strong impact on Ward students. They feel empowered by helping others and making a differences in other people's lives.
