The John Ward School PTO

2012-2013 Annual Fund

October 2, 2012

Dear Ward School Families,

Thanks to the generous support of Ward families, your PTO has been able to play a crucial role in funding important programs and activities for our children. With major cutbacks on the city and state levels, everyone at Ward works hard to maintain the enriched academic program to which our kids have become accustomed. With donations last year, in addition to funding a number of on-going programs, we invested in iPads, MacBooks, ProScope digital microscopes, and a new sound system in the gym. This year's PTO goal is to provide:

  • Creative Arts and Sciences curriculum related programming throughout the year in every classroom. These programs enhance English, art, history, social sciences, music, physical education and science curricula.  This year Ward is expecting an author/illustrator, a poet, drummers from Ghana, a program on Light and Lasers from the Science Discovery Museum, visits from historical figures, live owls and more.
  • Updated laptop cart and laptops for use in classrooms.
  • Books for the library and classrooms.

With your help, in the form of 100% participation from all Ward families,

we can reach our fundraising goal for 2012-2013 of $53,000.

The PTO spends money each academic year to enhance your child's educational experience.  If each Ward family donates $300, we would surpass our fundraising goal for the year.

Please know that no contribution is too small.  We greatly appreciate your past and present support.  Whether you give $30, $300 or $3,000, your gift will make a difference.  To donate online, visit http://www.wardpto.org and click Donate.  If you would prefer to write a check you may drop it in the Annual Fund box in the school lobby.  Does your employer offer a matching gift program? If so please consider using your employer's matching program to double your charitable donation to benefit Ward School. All contributions are tax-deductible.

Together we can make our children's school experience the best it can be.
