Traffic safety concerns
During the winter, there is a significant increase in the number of cars picking up children.  Please be considerate of the needs of our community and use the blue zone properly. There are only five spaces in the Blue Zone; waiting in one of them slows down everyone.

Is the Blue Zone for you?
Remember that the Blue Zone is not for everyone.  It is meant to be a MOVING LANE.
To use the Blue Zone:
* Children should be able to enter or exit the car independently from the sidewalk.
* Drivers should not leave their vehicles to assist children in the Blue Zone.
If you choose to use the Blue Zone, remember:
Ask your child to meet you in the Blue Zone.  If your child is waiting, stop and pick him/her up.  If not, circle around the block.
Never park in the Blue Zone.  This brings traffic to a standstill.

Be sure to inform other family members and caretakers who pick up your child.   Let's start the year off right!

Updated website
The district website has been reorganized in an effort to assist families in finding resources.  Check out the "For Families" section at www.newton.k12.ma.us for information.
