This week in the Garden
The Spring Flower bulbs we planted last week have thankfully not been disturbed by the squirrels, but we would ask that people be mindful that all around the fence, flower bulbs are sleeping so when shoots start to emerge in spring please don't step on them.
This week we have begun our class gardening schedules by distributing garlic cloves to this year's 1st grader's from the planting they did as kindergartners. We then used the remainder of the crop to plant anew with the current kindergartners so that next year they too shall have some garlic to bring home that they've grown themselves. Charles Geiss gave a wonderful talk to the two grades of children about the cycle of garlic and how it is a sustainable crop to grow in the garden.
