Ward Confidentiality Policy for Volunteers and Visitors

Student confidentiality is an essential component of being present in the school environment.  When volunteering or visiting in the school building, the expectation is that you respect the privacy of our students and staff. Ward School is an inclusive school, and we celebrate our students' individual needs and differences.

By cooperating with our school philosophy, all children are supported and protected, and their right to privacy is preserved. Respecting student confidentiality means not discussing students outside of your school visit.  Should you have any questions or concerns that arise during your visit, please discuss them solely with the teacher or principal if need be.  Your cooperation in this matter is critical and will foster a positive, respectful school environment.

Thank you!

Ward Annual Fund

Dear Ward School Families,

Hello again from your friends at the PTO.

Fall is well underway and so is our most important fundraiser - the Annual FundCampaign. As we all know, the teachers and staff at Ward work tirelessly to foster students' growth each and every day - but to bring the most incredible learning experience possible to our children, it's up to all of us together to raise $40,000.

Our effort will be short (through December 31st). Most importantly, it will only be successful with everybody's participation!  No amount is too small, every dollar counts (remember that $10 buys a book)!

We need your family to make this year's drive a success!

All donated funds go directly to our children and the Ward school!

Please drop off a check in the box at the entrance to the school, our donate here. A special thanks to the families who have already generously donated!

If you have any questions, please contact your PTO team (Gabriela, Bill and Zlatena) at: copresidents@wardpto.org

Creative Arts and Sciences Program Update

Sponsored by the Creative Arts and Sciences program and the PTO, Susan Tan will present her "Writing From Life" program to the second grade classrooms on Tuesday November 13th. Susan Tan's program builds connections to children's literacy development and writing skills while linking to the grade 2 reading/writing curriculum.

For more information, please reach out to one of the CAS chairs.

Ward School Directory

By now you should have received the invaluable copy of the Ward School Directory. You might end up opening this book more often than any other book during the school year. If for some reason you haven't received a copy, please contact Susan Tempesta. There are spare copies in the office.

When you are on the go you can always connect to any Ward family via the online version MySchoolAnywhere. The app is available for download on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.

There is a link to the online Directory on the PTO website as well.
If you have trouble accessing the online directory please contact the Directory team at directory@wardpto.org.

Last but not least, all this wouldn't have been possible without our marvelous Directory team - Sarah Lenz, Kathy Shields and Ron Farrar. BIG THANK YOU for putting everything together and raising money for Ward school.

Come take a look or remind your child to look in the lost and found.  Also, please remind your children to bring their jackets and sweaters in from the playground after recess.

Items not picked up before 12/18/18 will be donated to charity.
