Understanding Our Differences:
Blindness and Low Vision
On February 13th the Blindness and Low Vision unit of the UOD program was presented to the 3rd grade. Students were given introductory presentations and took part in hands-on activities. A wonderful guest speaker also discussed his experience with blindness with the students.

A bog thanks to our wonderful parent volunteer team: Ferd Van Gameren, Ron Farrar, Yuri Labador, and Maria Grossi.

Many thanks to the 3rd grade teachers and other staff members for their support.

Save the Date:
Ward International Night is on April 16th!
We're calling out to all families to please consider hosting a booth representing a country - whether it's your native origin, a place you've lived in, or a part of the world that you're interested in or connected to. Your stories can provide a cultural lesson of celebrated diversity. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about countries, cultures and customs beyond their own.

Especially to the families new to Ward, please come to our planning and informational meeting on February 27th at 8:30am at the Ward After School room (downstairs close to the cafeteria) to learn more about this highly anticipated event and how you may be able support it.

Please contact Cheryl Abramson ( or Zlatena Simeonova ( if you have any questions.

A country host and volunteer sign up sheet will be available soon.
