Monday- Lunch Menus Due

Tuesday- Curriculum Night
This evening is set aside for parents to learn about the curriculum and expectations for their childs' class. Meet your child's teacher, see fellow parents, and learn what's ahead for the year.
**7:00 Grades K,1,2
**7:40-8:00 All grades gather in gym
**8:05-8:45 Grades 3,4,5
This is an event for adults in your child's classroom at Ward School.
Wednesday, 8:40- Library Training
Volunteering for library is a wonderful way to observe your child in a school setting. Ms. Packard also lets volunteers check out a few extra books for their families. Whether you've signed up or not, swing by the library for a quick intro to circulation, selection, and shelving. All are welcome for this 1/2 hour training.
Wednesday- Picture Day
Comb that hair and get your kids ready to smile! Please be sure to have you photo orders and payments returned by Wednesday when class pictures and individual photos are taken.
Friday- Smile Event 3:15-4:30
The CARE Committee is sponsoring an afternoon with Bret Bataclan from the Smile Boston Project. Bret leaves his cartoon inspired paintings for people to take for "free" all over Boston. Attached to each painting is a note saying, "This painting is yours if you promise to smile at random people more often." He will tell his story and teach the children how to make cartoons similar to his. JOIN US! Please email Sherri (sherriwolf@alum.mit.edu) to RSVP.
Halloween Costume Charity Sale
Have your kids outgrown old costumes that are in great condition? Reduce, reuse and recycle! Bring them to the Ward Lobby before October 1st. The costumes and accessories we collect will be available for purchase on Wednesday October 1st (5:45pm), Friday October 3rd (8:10 am), and Monday October 6th (3:00). Proceeds go to UNICEF and left-over costumes will be donated to children at a local homeless shelter. Questions? Email Miriam Soibelman at msoibelman@caa.columbia.edu.

Have you registered on-line for the Ward Directory at www.wardpto.org? We are down to the wire for putting together the printed PTO directory. Please enter your information or we may not be able to include you. If you don't have access to the internet at home or at work, you can go to the Ward School office to register online.
