I want to inform you of incident that was reported to the police. Yesterday at about 6:00 PM, a 12 year old boy reported that he was approached by a male who asked if he wanted to come into his car and get a ride home. The male was about 50 years old, clean shaven and had gray hair. The vehicle was a black or dark blue SUV. The incident occurred near the corner of Franklin St. and Park St. The child ran home and reported this to his father. The police are investigating.
Incidents similar to this are reported from time to time across the city. Without alarming children, it is important to continually remind them of ways to be safe in the community.
