This Week at Ward- April 25th

Welcome back to school!

We hope everyone had a relaxing vacation and is ready for the home stretch of school. A few things to keep in mind:

**Raffle ticket sales are going on for both the teacher items and classroom baskets. Sales run through this Thursday April 30th. There is a box in the lobby to drop off your tickets.

** Ward Garden Spring Clean-up on Sunday, May 3rd, from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Ward School PTO has received a grant from Newton Conservators to create a "Helping Harvest Garden!" Our students will cultivate more vegetables and herbs this year in a new two season harvest garden to donate to the Newton Food Pantry. Please make plans to help out for a few hours of light (or heavy) labor by emailing Lili Sloan (ests40@comcast.net ) or by signing up on board in school lobby.

**The May PTO meeting will be an evening meeting. It will be Wednesday May 13th at the home of Bev Craig. Details to come.

**We will be having a parent's night out on Saturday May 16th. It will be a backyard party. A chance to relax, socialize and get ready for summer. Details to follow.

We are planning for next year already. A list will be forthcoming of PTO roles we need to fill. Some key roles we already know we need to fill are:
·        Newsletter Editor
·        Treasurer

Please consider volunteering for these or other vacant roles. Ward School is a special place because of parent involvement. We need your help to make it work. Whether you work or are at home we can try to accommodate your schedule and availability. Thanks!
