This Week at Ward

Garden Day

Tuesday, May 12th

Parents are invited to participate in Ward's annual planting event. Each grade plants a bed that ties to a classroom lesson. Your child may be planting a butterfly garden (after studying butterflies) or an immigration garden (after studying Ellis Island). Come help during your child's 30 minute classroom planting- make sure to ask your child about their classroom tie in. Bring shovels, trowels and gloves and be ready to rollup your sleeves!

Kindergarten: 9am Watson; 11am Mackenzie

First Grade: 9am Smoler; 10:30am Petrie
Second Grade: 9:30am Griffiths; 9:30am Costello
Third Grade: 10am Turetz; 10am Hammer
Fourth Grade: 10:30am Nectow; 11am Fry
Fifth Grade: 11:30am McClellan; 11:30am Addleman

We also need volunteers to water and weed the garden- Now thru September for 1 week periods - please contact: Lili Sloan at ests40@comcast.net

PTO Meeting- Next Year's Big Picture

How can PTO best help our children and teachers make Ward School the best it can be? Where does the money come from, where should we spend funds for the highest impact, and how we can do things even better? Bring your ideas for an evening PTO meeting at the home of the Craigs- 24 Fellsmere Rd.
