From Ward Health Room
The absentee rate at Ward has been low. There have just been a few cases of fever with respiratory or vomiting or diarrhea. No diagnosis though of H1N1 flu. Please remember proper handwashing gudelines and always encourage children of this practice.
I am sure that you have all read the most recent update of May 22 re: the H1N1 flu. I want to reiterate at this time the very important gudelines which well help us all.
1. Please keep your child home from school if he/or she has a high fever with upper respiratory symptoms or vomiting and diarrhea. If these symptoms present themselves, you either should see your doctor to be cleared from diagnosis of the flu or you must keep the child out for 7 days.
2. Please call the health office and report any symptoms mentioned.
3. Even if a child does not have a fever but does have upper respiratory or gastrointestianl symptoms- the child must stay home but can return when symptom free. If the child has a runny nose, other cold symptoms and cannot control cough or secretions - the protocall is always to keep child home even when there is not a heightenend allert.
Please help the situation and comply with request. Thanks so much. Let's hope our low absentee rate conitinues!!!
Stay well, and have a healthy and happy Memorial Day weekend!!!!
