From the Co-Presidents
Nothing says summer-approaching like the fabulous time had by all at our End of Year Picnic on Monday evening. Thank you to Zena Al Adeeb and Zlatena Simeonova for their hard work coordinating such a fun evening for our community.
We loved watching students leave it all on the field at Color Day on Wednesday! Thank you to our MANY parent volunteers (wow! What a showing!) and to our parent coordinators that worked with Ms. Pargoli to orchestrate a perfect day of fun: Matt Cusick, Duke Duchnowski, Jeremy Freid, Tetsu Inada and Tim Sullivan.
In our final week of the ForWard, we thank you for the time you have all given to the PTO during this past school year….you have read these long newsletters, followed our instagram posts, planned events and experiences, coordinated projects and shown up for our kids and our community. It truly takes a village and we are so glad that this is our village. Happy Summer and we look forward to communicating with you in late August.

Spirit Week - Let’s Try for Whole-School Participation!!
Show your school spirit for one final time this school year during our last week together:
Tuesday: Ward School Spirit (need a shirt? Email copresidents@wardpto.org)
Wednesday: Roll Out The Red Carpet - come in your fanciest clothes (perhaps with a change if it is hot!). Parents/Guardians are welcome and encouraged to take photos of their students on the red carpet!
Thursday: Camo/Tie-dye Day
Friday: School Picture Day - Make sure to wear your grade’s assigned color!! (5th Purple, 4th Blue, 3rd Green, 2nd Yellow, 1st Orange, Kindergarten Red)
Last Day of School Toast
Calling all grown ups! Join the PTO for one last celebration of the school year - a lemonade toast at the picnic tables on Friday 6/24 at 11:45 AM.
Last Call for PTO Expense Reimbursement
Thank you to anyone who made purchases on behalf of the PTO this year. Our fiscal year is ending on June 30th (and our Board is looking forward to a summer break!) so PLEASE submit any outstanding expenses to our amazing treasurer, Kristin Golden at kristen@wardpto.org ASAP.
Ward Community Donation to the Newton Food Pantries
If you ordered the Ward Artists’ Stationery packs you should have found them in your eldest child’s backpack on Friday. Thanks to your support we were able to make two generous donations from the Ward Community: Newton Food Pantry and Centre Street Food Pantry will each receive $550! Thank you to Keren Wainger for her vision and follow through on this project and to Ms. Corbo-Hudak for coordinating and inspiring our young artists and to Betsy Blazar for all of her support with sales.
