Fall Fest and Food Drive

The 2nd Annual Ward Fall Fest!

An event you do not want to miss! Join us at the Ward School playground on November 13th from 12:30-2:30 PM for an epic fall scavenger hunt, crafts, face painting, music, cider donuts and more! Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch if you wish. Hot dogs will be served too! This event will be fun for the whole family and is open to the entire Ward community…..we are growing stronger as a community together!

In this month of Thanksgiving, we are grateful that as a community we can give back to our neighbors. Please note that we will do this 2 ways at Fall Fest:

  • The 5th grade will be accepting food donations for the Newton Food Pantry (see below and attached flier)

  • There will be a raffle ($10 tickets) for a beautiful Thanksgiving centerpiece. All money raised from the raffle will go to the Ward Cares fund, so Ms. Brogadir has additional funding to support students or families in need.

We are grateful for all you do and look forward to spending the afternoon together celebrating our school. Volunteers are needed to help with the various craft and activity stations. Questions? Kerry at kreynolds7@partners.org

Fifth Grade Food Drive

Also in its second year is the Fifth Grade Food Drive. As their final year service project, Ward’s 5th graders will be running a school-wide food drive over the next couple of weeks.  The objective of this food drive will be to gather food donations from the community for the Newton Food Pantry, The Pantry will distribute these donations to families experiencing food insecurity in these times of uncertainty. The 5th graders have been hard at work making posters and designing fliers (see below) and are excited to have the opportunity to help their community.

Donations can be made at the Ward School Fall Fest on Sunday November 13th 12:30-2:30pm (preferred) or brought to school Mon 11/14 - Wed 11/16 (if necessary). Donations will then be delivered to the Newton Food Pantry on November 17th. Please see the attached flier for further details.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Sincerely,
Susan St. Pierre (sestpierre@gmail.com, Mia Inada's mom)
